About the app

Step by Step is a fitness app with a purpose. People track their daily movement, and that movement becomes more than a personal health metric: steps generate in-app DiCE coins that tie directly into digestive cancer awareness campaigns and giving. It pairs the motivation of a step tracker with a clear social mission, so users stay active while supporting a cause that matters.

Digestive Cancers Europe needed a polished, dependable product that could carry its brand, run on both major platforms, and connect movement to real-world impact. OgreLogic built that product and stayed on as the long-term technical partner.

The challenge

An app that links physical activity to fundraising has to get several things right at once. The step tracking has to be accurate and trustworthy, the rewards have to feel real and update without lag, and the giving has to connect cleanly to the right organizations. On top of that, it all has to behave consistently across iPhone and Android and keep passing app store review as both platforms change.

What we built

We designed and developed the Step by Step app end to end for iOS and Android, and submitted it to the Apple App Store and Google Play. The build centers on four connected features:

  • An intuitive step tracker that makes daily progress easy to see and stay motivated by.
  • Real-time DiCE coin generation, so movement is rewarded the moment it happens.
  • Integration with cancer awareness campaigns, tying activity to the wider DiCE mission.
  • Donation options for European DiCE organizations, turning steps into support for digestive cancer causes.

Ongoing maintenance

The relationship did not end at launch. OgreLogic provides ongoing maintenance for the app, keeping it stable and compatible as iOS and Android release new versions, resolving issues, and handling the app store requirements that keep it published and available to download. For a nonprofit-backed product, that steady support matters as much as the original build.

The impact

Step by Step is live on both the App Store and Google Play, giving Digestive Cancers Europe a branded mobile product that reaches users across platforms. It reframes a simple daily habit as a way to contribute: people move, earn DiCE coins, and channel that activity into awareness and donations for digestive cancer organizations across Europe. With OgreLogic maintaining it, the app stays reliable for the people and the cause that depend on it.
