Background
Goodwin Academy wanted one simple place for staff and parents to stay connected through the day, with secure messaging, daily photos, attendance, and tasks, instead of scattered texts and paper notes. They came to OgreLogic to design and build it as a proper product: two apps and an admin panel, under the tagline "Smarter communication, stronger connections."
The challenge
A tool like this has three very different audiences. Parents want a simple, reassuring window into their child's day. Staff want something fast that does not add work on a busy floor. And an administrator needs to manage accounts, children, and content behind both apps. The platform had to serve all three without getting complicated, and it had to handle sensitive information about children securely.
What we built
OgreLogic ran the full process, from requirements and wireframes to a design prototype and a two-phase build, and delivered a complete platform:
- A Parent app and a separate Staff app, on iOS and Android, sharing one system.
- Secure messaging between staff and parents.
- Photo sharing, so parents can see moments from their child's day.
- Attendance tracking, including the option for staff to capture a photo at check in.
- Task management and biometric login.
- A web admin panel where the academy creates parent accounts, manages children and staff, and uploads content.
The result
Goodwin Academy launched on the App Store and Google Play with a parent app, a staff app, and an admin panel working together, replacing scattered messaging with one simple platform for the whole centre. OgreLogic carried it from the first wireframe through to launch and continues to support it.
