Members + classes Join, pay dues, and register for CE classes online
Since 1948 A heritage association, brought online

Background

MDECIA serves electrical contractors with membership, monthly meetings, and continuing-education credit classes, run day to day by Megan McKenney of Alger Electric. The association needed to move off an outdated presence and onto a website that could handle members, classes, and payments in one place.

The challenge

An association website has to do real work, not just inform. Members need to join and pay dues, register and pay for credit classes with seat limits and sign-up cutoffs, and find meetings, minutes, and officers, all manageable by a small office without a developer on call. It also had to look clean and clearly Maryland.

What we built

OgreLogic designed and built mdecia.org on WordPress, including a new logo:

  • Membership join and renewal, an annual association membership, with online payment.
  • A meetings and seminars section and a courses section, with class registration, member and non-member pricing, sign-up cutoffs, and the continuing-education hours each class earns.
  • PayPal payment integration for dues and class fees.
  • Officer listings, newsletters, minutes, and a meetings calendar the office updates itself.
  • A clean, Maryland-appropriate design, plus ongoing support as the association adds classes and meetings.

The result

MDECIA went live at mdecia.org with members joining, paying dues, and registering for credit classes online, and an office team that runs it on their own. After the build, Alger Electric, which manages the association, left OgreLogic a five-star review.

Great company to work with through many trial and errors in designing the website and figuring out what works best for us. Mike was always prompt in making the requested changes. Great customer service and striving to make the customer happy.
