The vision
PowerThinking was built around a clear idea: give people evidence-based tools that support calm, positive thinking, confidence, and goal achievement. Its founder, Stanley H. Greene, wanted something more purposeful than a generic mindfulness product, positioned as goal-driven mental training backed by positive psychology and made for daily use.
Our role grew well beyond writing code. Once the app was functional, the next job was to prepare the product for real growth: store visibility, paid acquisition, content-led awareness, retention tracking, and a path from free users to paid subscribers.
The challenge
PowerThinking needed both solid product execution and clear go-to-market thinking. The work was never just screens and features. It meant stabilizing the app, supporting the systems around it, preparing store-ready builds, and giving the founder a marketing plan he could act on:
- Launch readiness: final QA, user testing, store submissions, and issue resolution before the app could confidently serve real users.
- Multi-platform complexity: iOS and Android builds maintained across changing app store policies, library updates, and review requirements.
- Engagement: ongoing enhancements, including an assessment feature and clearer referral visibility to support retention.
- Payments and referrals: support around Stripe, referral tracking, and the related payment APIs and website touchpoints.
- Communication: in-app messaging, voice, video, and attachments handled through CometChat.
- Growth: a real plan for installs, retention, and free-to-paid conversion once the product was stable.
Building and launching the app
After an in-person project review with Stanley Greene in Philadelphia, we put additional testing and development resources on the app to push it toward a reliable launch. The team tested the PowerThinking app thoroughly, resolved the reported issues, and submitted the builds to the Apple App Store and Google Play for review so users could download and use it.
As the product matured, we kept up with platform and feature work. When an Apple policy update caused an iOS session issue, we updated the affected libraries and restored normal sign-in behavior. We added an assessment feature that gives the app a stronger foundation for structured mental resilience tracking, and we shipped a set of referral improvements: payment referral API fixes, referral list fixes, a total referral user count, and referral user detail views.
Third-party systems and ongoing maintenance
The PowerThinking ecosystem has several moving parts beyond the core app. We supported the Stripe and website payment touchpoints, and we worked through CometChat communication issues across messaging, voice, video, and attachments so users could connect reliably.
We also provide annual maintenance, keeping the app running smoothly through updates, fixes, and proactive support. That turned the initial build into a longer-term technical partnership rather than a one-time handoff.
A growth plan to turn installs into users
With the app stable, we prepared a growth marketing strategy focused on driving installs, improving retention, and converting free users into paying subscribers:
- Brand positioning: present PowerThinking as evidence-based, goal-oriented mental wellness rather than another generic mindfulness app.
- App store optimization: improve visibility through keyword work, store descriptions, screenshot captions, preview videos, and ratings.
- Paid acquisition: reach high-intent users through Google Ads, Apple Search Ads, Facebook, and Instagram around stress relief, productivity, self-help, and personal development.
- SEO and content: build website traffic with educational content on resilience, goal achievement, and practical mental tools.
- Performance tracking: monitor installs, click-through rate, cost per install, Day 1, 7, and 30 retention, ratings, and free-to-paid conversion, then optimize every month.
The impact
Our work moved PowerThinking from app development into a more complete digital product:
- The app was tested, stabilized, and submitted to both stores for review.
- Platform issues, including the Apple policy session bug, were resolved through library updates.
- New functionality, including the assessment feature, improved the user experience.
- Stripe, referral, and CometChat support strengthened the foundation around payments, referrals, and communication.
- Annual maintenance keeps the app supported after launch instead of leaving the founder on his own.
- A practical growth roadmap covers ASO, paid ads, SEO, content, tracking, and monthly optimization.
